Mission

The Hans Ohlms Foundation was established to honor and preserve the legacy and spirit of Hans Ohlms.
The concrete purpose of the Hans-Ohlms-Foundation is therefore

the promotion of freedom-oriented and above-average creative work in cultural life and in democratic society in general
the initiation of corresponding educational work at home and abroad - especially in relation to the neighboring country of the Netherlands - as an introduction to creativity and culture
own active cultural activities in the field of exhibitions and promotion of creative cultural workers in the spirit and sense of Hans Ohlms.

In order to achieve this purpose, the foundation association will:

promote young talent in the field of cultural education,
initiate scientific work on the subject of "artists with the experience of two world wars", primarily around the period 1900 - 2000 and on the life's work of Hans Ohlms,
issue publications,
organize lectures and seminars
build up a digital documentation archive about Hans Ohlms, his life and work,
award prizes for merits in the field of special creative and creative-social activities in the area of the Euregio, and
support similar endeavors and thus also serve international understanding.
